ABOUT SOUTHGATE WOMAN'S GROUP
The Southgate Women’s Group is the brainchild of Southgate resident Frayda Glass, who founded the group in 2017. From the beginning, our group was diverse and lively with the common trait that most of us live in Palo Alto’s Southgate neighborhood and all of us are women.
Our goal was to socialize, exchange views on a variety of subjects and knit the neighborhood more tightly together. We took turns hosting our monthly meetings in member’s houses and even without a formal agenda, we had the most interesting and entertaining gatherings. We were helping each other as neighbors and friends.
The worldwide pandemic stopped us in our tracks. Determined to find a new role for ourselves - and in true Silicon Valley spirit – we pivoted to a new “business model”. With limited abilities to socialize our new focus is on educational Zoom meetings. On July 28, 2020 we will start our first “Election Forum” – a one hour online meeting with City Council candidate Rebecca Eisenberg. We will offer this forum to all the candidates and extend invitations to the Southgate neighborhood as a whole.
